During the month of February 2024, Rey Mariano was contacted by a couple who were preparing to move out of the Philippines. They inquired with Mr. Mariano whether he might know anyone interested in adopting six cats that were in need of a new home. After careful consideration, Mr. Mariano reached out to the Hope Ebony Animal Society to ask if they could assist in finding a loving family for the cats, and the society gladly agreed to take them in. Among these cats was a special feline named Denise. The name Denise comes from a remarkable woman who lives with cerebral palsy, symbolizing resilience and strength. Denise eventually became pregnant by her companion Richard, who is one of the original six cats. On December 9, 2024, Denise gave birth to four adorable kittens. The names chosen for these new arrivals are Rachel, Michelle, Kyle, and Julian. The society has arranged for the kittens to attend the Cats School, where they will be trained to become exceptional emotional support cats. After their training is complete, they will embark on a journey to be exported to loving homes in Sweden, Germany, and France.

We are conveniently located right next to Puregold. One sunny day in early February 2023, a stray cat wandered into our office seeking solace. Jennifer and Yvonne quickly took notice and kindly offered the cat some nourishing food. To our delight, the cat proved to be extraordinarily loving and friendly, immediately winning our hearts. After much consideration, on February 22, 2023, we made the heartfelt decision to adopt the cat. We chose to name her Pure, inspired by the name of the store next door, Puregold. Ms. Pure soon became the beloved mama factory for the kittens we were training to become emotional support animals. On May 11, 2024, Mama Pure joyfully gave birth to her first set of kittens, which we named Guitar, Cielo, Violin, and Ukulele. They are currently undergoing training to develop their skills as emotional support animals. Furthermore, on November 23, 2024, Mama Pure blessed us with the arrival of her second set of kittens, which we named Justice, Hans, and Christof. Over the course of this year, we are excitedly preparing the kittens to be exported to Sweden, Germany, and France, countries that are particularly well-known for their deep appreciation and love for emotional support cats.

Joshua The Deaf Cat

On September 17, 2024, a heartwarming event unfolded when a small, deaf kitten chose to be rescued. Ian dropped off Dr. Pinnock along with Honey at the local cat office. Upon exiting the car, we encountered an adorable kitten with striking blue eyes and pristine white fur that seemed to shimmer in the sunlight. Honey, with her kind spirit, extended her hand in friendship to the beautiful example of God’s creation. The lovely feline initially hesitated, held back by a moment of limbic system fear, but then bravely decided to embrace the loving touch offered by Honey. Dr. Pinnock enthusiastically consented to the kitty’s heartfelt offer to be rescued. 

Hope Ebony Animal Society (HEAS) has a detailed rescue process that includes several important steps: naming the animal, giving it a birthday, ensuring isolation for safety, feeding, administering vitamins, scheduling a vet visit, maintaining temporary separation, and finally, integrating the pet into socialization practices and support animal training. 

We decided to name him after a Jamaican hero, Joshua. We estimate that Joshua was born on June 27, 2024. We carefully placed him in the isolation feeding room, where we ensured he received his vitamins and proper care. On September 21, Joshua had his long-awaited vet visit. Following the appointment, Dr. Pinnock lovingly took him home and made the cozy decision to place the friendly kitten in Pinnock’s bedroom, ensuring he would feel safe and comfortable.
